LoudClick Continues to Grow!
We've added some major new features. Thanks to our users' input, we are well on the way to building a great system for you to build websites together. Here's a run-down on the latest new features:
New Features Added September 2008
New Dashboard
We redesigned and added the new look to the Dashboard - the first place you "land" after logging into LoudClick. New Dashboard features include:
-
Websites Tab - This tab contains a list all your websites and also indicates what group you are in for that website. There is also a new sort option here so you can more easily find the website you are looking for.
-
My Pages Tab - This tab contains a list of all the pages you have added to websites you are a part of. Use the dropdown menu to choose the website and the pages you have added to the website will load.
-
Message Center Box - the newest messages/notifications will display in the box. You can click on the message or use the Message Center button to retrieve your messages.
-
Edit Account Box - features one click access your LoudClick account information. Just click Edit Account.
-
News Boxes - One for LoudClick news and the other for LCU (LoudClick University) news. It is important to stay informed :)
Create Website Wizard
Building a website just got a lot easier! Click Create Website from the dashboard or toolbar and the Create Website Wizard option will display. The Wizard takes you through a simple 6 step process. Along the way you will create the basic elements of building a website including:
-
Naming the website
-
Choosing the template -you will notice a new area for selecting your Design & Layout (Template). You now can see a thumbnail of all the template selections from this screen. Click the thumbnail and a preview will open in a new window
-
Editing the header - the top element of the website
-
Editing the footer - the bottom element of the website
-
Adding homepage content
The entire process takes just minutes. The Create Website Wizard makes building a website much easier. For those of you who like to dig in and do it from scratch, a DYI (Do It Yourself) option is still available.
Secure Page Login
Also making its debut is the simplified secure page log in process. Now, signing in to a secure page from the toolbar is a simple process - we removed several screens to make it easier and more streamlined.
Upgrade Option: LoudClick Pro Websites
We are excited to offer a new upgrade your website: LoudClick Pro Website. Upgrading to LoudClick Pro Website means more options and storage. Some of the options available for LoudClick Pro Websites include:

New Features added July 2008
New "look" for page manager and folder manager
The page and folder managers display our latest design elements. You will notice that the new "look" is not everywhere yet. Gardens take time to grow and so do we! So hang in there...it is coming soon!
Quicker add page process
We reduced the number of steps it takes to add a page to a website. We did this by incorporating all the page creation functions onto one page and eliminating verification/notifications screen. Now, you have one form to fill out and can publish from the same form. You can literally have a new page up and running in seconds.
Folders have display pages
When you create a new folder, a display page is created with it. This display page displays all the pages in the folder as links. It acts as a navigation tool to the folder's pages.
New Navigation
New simplified navigation utilizes the new folder display pages to easily build navigation for your site.
New Templates (they are pretty)
Several new, sleek templates are now available that incorporate all the new features. Check them out by clicking Create Website on your Dashboard or http://my.loudclick.net/Website-create.aspx (you will need to log in to view the new template designs).
Let us know if you have questions about these new features by contacting us at support@loudclick.net.
New Features added May 2008
New Toolbar
Probably the most obvious change is the new toolbar. It includes a couple of key features. First, it will now contain a functional web address showing your visitors the full web address of the page they are on within your site. While the toolbar still contains the same basic functions (Register, Sign In, Dashboard, Website Manager, Edit Page, Add Page and Invite People) you will also notice a new link to the Message Center (more on that later).
Adding Elements to your page
You will now be able to create new editable areas within your page. This will allow you to add new content areas in various locations in relation to the existing elements. As we release new features, functionality and widgets into LoudClick, you will be able to integrate them into your page through this new architecture. For now, we offer content, indexer and navigation menu options with more to follow.
Email Forms
You can now insert an e-mail form into your webpages so your visitors can send you an email containing information you determine. We expect typical uses for these forms to be things like Contact Us, Surveys or other information you want to receive from your users. Look for this on the Content Editor - it's the icon on top menu - furthest to the right.
Message Center
Maybe the most significant new feature is the Message Center. The Message Center will allow both you and people who register on your website a safe way to communicate. The Message Center provides the ability to send messages to any or all of the people who have registered or have been invited to your site. Personal privacy is increased because the users will not have to worry about exposing their e-mail address to spam sources (as with non-LoudClick websites). It also allows you to invite or add people to your website for secure viewing, editing or receiving communications. This allows you to better market your site and communicate with the community of people that have an interest in your website.
We hope these improvements make your websites more enjoyable and successful. Loudclick.net will continue to add improvements to the system and we rely on feedback from you to make it the best way to build websites together .
Please check out LoudClick University - LCU for more information on how to use these new features. We will be continually updating information and adding tutorials. In the mean-time don't hesitate to click the support button located in the upper-right of most pages in the system. We look forward to helping you in any way we can.
Thank you for using LoudClick.net to build websites together.
